    9. Stephen Stephen 0
Cool. I love fly fishing. A campground? I hope it doesn't rain, I plan on catfishing. I got rained out this past weekend too. @kaaymaan

@Cressionnie I'm supposed to go fly fishing this weekend at standing Indian campground in Franklin but it looks like it might be raining all weekend now

Haha a new species! @Cressionnie well wow you are pretty lucky to have it in your backyard! I have to drive a bit.

I just saw some guys catch a 3 ft'er in a cast net, no more than a week ago.
    13. Stephen Stephen 0

I live in Spring Hope. It's not far from Raleigh. I have the river running behind my house and a little creek that runs to the Tar. I paddle my creek boat ...more down to the Tar. @kaaymaan
    15. Stephen Stephen 0
No, you don't have to pay to fish. You can pretty much just throw in anywhere. @kaaymaan
    16. Stephen Stephen 0
I thought I had discovered a lost species.
    17. Stephen Stephen 0
Nope, never landed one. I really didn't start river fishing until a few years ago. Needless to say, I was quite surprised to see that 4 ft beast swimming around. ...more @kaaymaan

@Cressionnie I'm in Greensboro so I only have lake Brandt, Townsend or Higgins. Unless I go to random ponds. I want to catch more gar for sure
    19. kayleekm 0
@Cressionnie oh so you never have? They are tough...at least that small one was. I think about an hour and a half from the tar river. Have to pay to fish?
    20. Stephen Stephen 0
Yeah, I haven't seen any yet this year, but I know they are in there. I have always wanted to land one. @kaaymaan
    21. kayleekm 0
@Cressionnie oh wow. No I have never been fishing there but I guess I should!!
    22. Stephen Stephen 0
I have Gar in my creek, and they are in the Tar River. I hooked into a 4 ft Alligator Gar on my fly rod. Unfortunately, it didn't set right, and came out. ...more Have you ever fished the Tar? @kaaymaan

WOW I would love to see one that big! That's amazing and a bit terrifying lol. I know with these smaller ones I had to net them while I reeled them in. They ...more are heavy!
    33. kayleekm 0
