Good information to know Mike. I have a pontoon boat on Greer's Ferry and I will try this next time I'm out. Thanks

I was trolling with a chrome and blue 3/4 oz. cotton Cordell I believe.
As far as casting those types of baits, you need to experiment and let the fish tell you ...more what they want. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, or in between, a jigging action is probably my most productive when I'm not trolling them, count down the lure to the depth you want, then raise the rod tip to pull the bait up and towards you, lower the rod tip and reel, repeat all the way back to shore don't allow a lot of slack when lowering the rod tip, and watch the line as you do for bumps or ticks, the lure usually gets hit on the drop. Good luck!

I'm new to bass fishing. Mostly live bait (shrimp, squid, sardine, etc.) Florida offshore before. I read about and just purchased a Rattle Trap. Do I just cast ...more and reel it back in? Fast or slow? Sunset best? Without knowing bottom, is near shoreline or at inlets to lake good? I'd appreciate advice; I want to go to lures exclusively (or mainly at least.)
