  Best place for eel is Taylors Market on route 1.

  Yeah. Caught it in a kayak about 20 yards off the shore. Had to paddle to shore to land it. They seem to hang out where the bottom drops off to 30+ feet.

  According to a Missouri government webpage, a 49" blue catfish weighs an average of 55lbs. Looks like you caught it in a kayak? I've been in search of catching ...more a big cat on the Potomac near Quantico. Will try some eel next time.
