I was fishing deep trees out off a mainlake point and hadn't had bite all day. I flipped into this one tree about 15 ft. deep. I was waiting for it to hit the bottom letting it fall slack line when I felt a huge thump, kinda like a crappie on steroids, lol. I felt it through the slack line, that's how hard she hit this thing. I set the hook and she went crazy!!! I was only using 16# Sunline Sniper Fluorocarbon and was a lil nervous that she'd break me off as she winded through the tree. I just held steady pressure and she came up like a killer whale breaching the surface. My heart almost stopped when I saw how huge she was. I yelled "GET THA NET" as my dad fumbled through the boat when he saw the giant for the first time. She made one last dash under boat and gave her line with my rod almost completely in the water and under the boat, unsure if my line was gunna hold. I got her up and dad snatched her up and BAM!! MY PB 10 LB 3 OZ.
