Another one caught out of a smaller clump of pads next to the larger body of pads. There was a definite flurry of activity as some clouds came in and a bit of a change in wind direction.

I swear, that lake has the heaviest wind i have ever seen in my life. the lake was folding in half, so I try'd a chatterbait to try and attract attention. but ...more i got cought up.

Great idea with the swim bait. Might try a chatter bait as well. Or a swimming jig. Even the Ol' spinnerbait. If you're looking at swimming baits. Could ...more try a jerk bait as well.

I've been wading dock to dock and got one blow up on a frog. but I fished in the bay by Michaels on the lake for an hour in the pads and got nothing. it's ...more super windy and very cold right now. think I will throw a jig by the docks and see what happens. any good moving baits that I should try?

Both of those are great baits. The wacky rig is definitely my go to when things get tough. If you are fishing around vegetation with a buzz bait and are getting ...more fouled constantly, I like to use Scum Frog Big Foot or Little BIgfoot. It fills the same niche as a buzz bait but has the same advantage as a frog. Weed less! You can toss it anywhere and get it back. It has paddle tails for frog legs and leaves a bubble trail like buzz baits. What you are fishing with sounds great. Don't over look those spots that maybe shallow but have weed ( pads, grass, coontail, etc) plus another type of cover. Such as a doc or tree, boat. The bigger bass I caught in a small hard to get to spot where there was pads a dock broken in the water and a tree covering it all. I watched all morning guys in bass boats pounding the edge of the pads pass that spot up. Other folks too. I shot that frog in there let is sit for a five count gave it a twitch and the water erupted. You will need a stout rod and hefty line to keep those big guys from digging in to the forest down there. Good luck!

going on saturday, any tips? btw I wade in the water. I can go to the bouy its so shallow. I mostly use wacky rigs on docks or buzbaits near any grass matts
