If the water is up in the buckbrush during early spring, you can count on some giants being here.

Not questioning the 2 pigs you are showing. I would love to hook those. Respect given. Just would like to see the 11 pounder... Anticipating next week!

I plan on posting its picture in next weeks photo competition. These two aren't small ones by any means though, as one was over five and the other was right ...more at seven pounds. All of them were caught pitchin into the brush with a bps beaver style bait in black neon, which is black with red flake. I was using a pegged half ounce tungsten weight on a snelled Trokar flipping hook, 65 pound braid and a heavy flouro leader. To say that this was a magical day would be an understatement for sure. Too bad it wasn't a tournament day. Over the years I have seen some monsters pulled out of this brush. I really debated on posting the location as it has been so productive and people tend to just run right by it on their way out to the main lake, but it is so good that it just has to be shared. It tends to heat back up in the fall when the bass start schooling and running shad on the flats. Just be careful running your boat back there as there are a few stakebeds and it is usually shallower this time of year.

You posted these 2 over an 11 lb. Large mouth?!?
      C'mon man! Show and tell......

Can be shallow when the water is low, but in late winter/early spring the water is usually up high enough to fish the brush effectively and averages about 3' ...more deep at that time. The water has been lower than average this past winter and spring and made it difficult to fish the area, but the fish were still there. I had over 30 pounds in the boat with five fish on this particular day, with one of them being an 11 pound freak. Figured I would post pics of that one another day.
