Spots resemble LMB in coloration and shape. The exception is that the corner of the jaw does not extend back behand the eye. This trait is shared by the SMB. ...more The spot is also unique in that there is a spot on the bottom of the inside of the mouth we call a tongue. It is just really a spot that has raised bristle like projections. Basically a rough spot you can see and feel. If u did indeed catch a spot in the Rock it is huge news. Fish ID can be tough. My guess is you actually might have caught a huge Rock Bass. If so dinner is on. Great eaters and same bag limits as other pan fish. Pic pls.

Didn't think Spotted Bass were this far North. Possibly a LMB or SMB with irregular coloring. Any Pictures? Thanks for your River Report.
