40" pike just about pulled Rod of the dock, made several runs and finally landed him myself.

  Sorry, but no way a 40". That is a HUGE net in that case. Plus those look like 5/4" deck boards. Turn the fish a little and it covers maybe 4 1/2 boards. ...more 22" tops
