About Red Porgy

The only American porgy with a near nostril that is round (not slit-like). Head and body are silvery red, with many tiny blue spots, especially on the upper part of the body, with a silvery-white underside. Eye has 2 diagonal blue stripes above and below it. Tail is edged in black and has white tips. Red Porgy's are humpbacked fish with compact, stocky bodies.
